While many wedding photographers you’ll encounter shoot exclusively on a Canon R6 (or similar basic digital setup), my secret sauce is blending a carefully chosen mix of cameras and mediums from different time periods. Canon R6 Mark II

This is my go-to digital camera on wedding days, paired with my versatile 24–70mm Sigma Art lens. Together, they give me the flexibility to capture everything from sweeping scenes to intimate, split-second moments with ease. Perfect for candid, fast-moving shots, it’s no surprise this setup is a favorite among wedding photographers worldwide.

Contax 645 - 120 FILM

A professional medium format 645 film camera, the Contax 645 is celebrated for it's ability to create images with that signature “buttery” bokeh. Released in 1999, it quickly became a legend in the photography world and remains one of the most coveted collector’s cameras today. It shoots on 120 medium format film—a roll of film larger than traditional 35mm, producing bigger negatives that allow for incredible detail, richer tones, and a more cinematic look. Even after 25 years, this remains the most expensive camera in my collection—proof that true craftsmanship never goes out of style.

Canon 514XL - SUPER 8

Released in 1976, this video camera is one of the most beloved Super 8 film cameras of its era. Known for its compact design, sharp Canon lens, and ability to shoot in low light, it became a favorite for capturing home movies with warmth and character. Today, it’s treasured for the same reasons—its footage is soft, nostalgic, and beautifully imperfect, with motion blur, light leaks, and film grain that instantly transport you back in time.

FujiFilm X100V

The X100V is a cult favorite among photographers, travelers, and creators worldwide—so much so that it became nearly impossible to find after going viral in the travel and street photography community. Compact and stylish, it’s the perfect on-the-go camera, slipping easily into a bag while delivering professional-quality images. Its true magic lies in Fujifilm’s film simulation modes, which allow me to shoot digital images that mimic the look and feel of classic film stocks—rich colors, soft grain, and timeless tones—without ever loading a roll. It’s my constant travel companion and a creative tool I love bringing along for candid, in-between wedding moments.

Black Magic Pocket Cinema

The original was released in 2013 and was a game-changer for filmmakers and videographers. Small enough to fit in your hand yet capable of producing cinematic-quality footage, it offered 13 stops of dynamic range and the ability to shoot in RAW—features previously reserved for much larger, more expensive rigs. Its Super 16mm sensor delivers a rich, filmic look with deep colors and beautiful highlight roll-off, making it a favorite for indie films and creative projects. I use it to bring a cinematic edge to wedding footage, blending modern digital clarity with a timeless, movie-like aesthetic.

Sigma Art Lens

The Sigma Art 24–70mm is my workhorse lens on wedding days—fast, sharp, and endlessly versatile. Its wide-to-portrait zoom range allows me to capture sweeping ceremony shots, intimate portraits, and fast-moving candid moments without ever switching lenses. The Art series is renowned for its exceptional optical quality, beautiful contrast, and creamy bokeh, making it a favorite among professionals. Paired with my digital camera, it ensures I can adapt to any lighting or situation, delivering crisp, vibrant images from the first look to the last dance.

Profoto Flash

My Profoto flash system, paired with a MagMod modifier, is all about creating beautiful, natural-looking light—no harsh shadows, no blown-out highlights. The MagMod helps diffuse and shape the light, giving it a soft, flattering quality that enhances skin tones and preserves the mood of the scene. I often bounce the flash off ceilings or walls, wrapping the space in a gentle, even glow that feels like natural daylight. It’s a powerful yet subtle setup that ensures your wedding images look warm, polished, and full of depth—no matter the lighting conditions.

Pentax K1000 - 35MM FILM

The Pentax K1000, introduced in 1976, is one of the most iconic 35mm film cameras ever made. Beloved by beginners and seasoned photographers alike, it’s known for its simplicity, durability, and fully manual controls that let you slow down and truly connect with the art of photography. With its crisp Pentax glass and classic design, it produces rich, true-to-life images that feel both nostalgic and timeless. It’s a reliable workhorse in my film kit, perfect for capturing those quiet, authentic wedding moments with a touch of vintage charm.
